Interested in learning more about farming and the monastic life? Consider joining us as a Farm Companion!
Our Farm Companion program is a way to join our community when your presence is most needed—during the height of the growing season. Farm Companionship is an opportunity to learn organic, biodynamic and permaculture farming methods while also immersing yourself in the life of prayer experienced in a monastic community.
We seek able-bodied companions to share our life during this season of heat and hard work. Applicants need not be Christian to apply but are expected to join us in our communal worship—set times of prayer that include meditation, chanting and Eucharist.
Farm Companions live in the Longhouse, which consists of private bedrooms, shared bath between every two bedrooms, full kitchen, laundry facilities and living room. There is one communal meal most days, and food items for breakfast and dinner (as well as for midday meals when no communal meal is served) will be provided in the Longhouse kitchen. Companions are responsible for maintaining private and common areas following the principles of simplicitiy, cleanliness and respect.
If you are interested in joining us as a Farm Companion and would like an application or have further questions, please contact us, and include "Farm Companion" in the subject line. View photos and updates about our life on the farm on our facebook page.
